  • Q: Where are you exactly located?

A: We are very conveniently located just west of the new Sartell City Hall on 2 ½ Street going toward 19th Ave. (Towards the wilds housing development). Turn left on 17th and after reaching the stop sign (T cross section) my studio is located just to the right as you turn on to Boulder Dr. If coming from St. Cloud taking Veteran’s (8th) to 65th and turning right and traveling until the stop sign. At this point crossing the intersection you are now on 19th Ave. Travel this until you reach Boulder Drive. Take a right and my studio is located on the right. 1704 Boulder Drive.

Q: What is the benefit of your program over the major health franchise or other health clubs and sport training programs in town?

A: All programs that have well trained trainers do a fine job. Unfortunately in the September edition of Men’ Health, an article discussed how some programs have less than qualified individuals. Very unfortunately one incident proved fatal. I have 14 years experience working with cardiac patients and performing diagnostic test in clinical cardiology. I am very well professionally prepared to work with both high-risk individuals and those looking from becoming high risk.

I have spent my whole life studying and playing sports. Both my undergraduate and master’s degree have been in science with emphasis on sports and human physiology. I work very closely with my athlete and non-athletes. I never go above a 4:1 ratio with athletes. This way I can keep a vigilant eye on each one of them. And by using a pre- designed studio in my new home, I can keep overhead down and provide the same quality of service that is required working at a medical facility.

Finally I am able to provide diversity. I am a certified smoking cessation counselor and worked my last few years in the hospital as a lifestyle management counselor. I have wonderful resources and knowledge in the area of cardiac disease, sport nutrition and public speaking.

Q: Do you offer package specials?

A: Yes, I offer package rates in all areas of training. Please contact me for pricing.

Q: What are your hours of operation?

A: 4AM – 11 PM Monday through Sunday- if I have an opening you can have it. I know many people work 9-5 or work 2nd or 3rd shifts and students are in school until mid afternoon. I can work around your schedule.

Q: Can you just write me a program I can do on my own?

A: Yes. I have written many exercise programs for people. Simple hourly rates would apply in the development of the program and this is would definitely be a less expensive approach.

Q: What if I belong to a gym or have my own equipment at home but need some assistance, will you work outside your studio.

A: Yes, this is a little bit more expensive (but still less expensive than health clubs); but I can work at health clubs with you (permission based on each clubs policies) or your home.

Q: When should I sign my athlete up for training and for how long?

A: I have provided optimal seasons for training different sports on the site. I like to receive athletes in the off-season or early in the preseason. This is usually 12 weeks or more before competition begins. The difficulty comes in when an athlete is a multi-sport. Even this doesn’t pose to big of a problem. I work hard on not jeopardizing their current sport but at the same time preparing them for the sport they really want to be trained.

Length of training should last for numerous weeks. Mechanical changes take about 18 sessions or 6 weeks. This is structural components like muscle fiber change. However, Neurological changes occur much quicker, so athletes can improve balance and agility by way of neuro recognition.

Q: Do you measure for athletic improvements?

A: Yes, I do a pre, mid and post test on my athletes to help assess their improvement. Some athletes are very mature when it comes to training and don’t show tremendous changes but still develop great agility and coordination, while others are very new to training and show dramatic, almost fictional improvements.

Q: What if we can’t make a session or don’t use all of ours up by the beginning of the competitive season.

A: I know during the competitive season the coach has the athletes on a training program. I am not sure of the expertise of these coaches. From some of the things I’ve heard demonstrates to me that this is not their area of expertise and visiting with our training program throughout the season may be wise. On the other hand, if things are going fine with their in-season conditioning, you can feel assured that you’ll never be punished by missing a session or going on vacation. The athlete has one full year to use their session. So many athletes start the new year with remaining session from last year. This can be nice because of pricing adjustments.
